This is super easy and so fast!   Following the recipe exactly the consistency was very much like the frosting you buy in the store.  I believe you could add more evaporated milk to make the consistency a little more fluffy.  I will have to experiment with that some and post and update!  I’m also wondering if you could use regular milk instead of the evaporated milk.  I don’t like opening the can for just 5T, seems to be such a waste if I can’t figure out something to use the rest for quickly.


2 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar)

6 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

6 Tablespoons Butter

5 Tablespoons Evaporated Milk

1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

1 packet of Velata Raspberry Mixable


  1. In a medium bowl, sift together the confectioners’ sugar and cocoa, and set aside. (I just used a fork because I don’t have a sifter and mixed it well…sifting it through the fork as I went)
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter until smooth, then gradually beat in sugar mixture alternately with evaporated milk. Blend in vanilla and Velata Raspberry Mixable. Beat until light and fluffy. If necessary, adjust consistency with more milk or sugar.
